Who We Are

PCHRP is an affiliate of BAYAN USA,

an alliance of progressive Filipino groups

in the U.S. representing organizations of

students, scholars, women, workers,

and youth. BAYAN-USA serves

as an information bureau for the

national democratic movement of the

Philippines and as a campaign center for

anti-imperialist Filipinos in the U.S.

What's New

Makibaka is the Tagalog word for “struggle.” Makibaka! Justice Now! is an interactive theater play addressing the root causes of poverty in the Philippines, increasing awareness and engaging audience members as active participants to create collective community solutions. This project provides such an exciting opportunity for its participants to develop community-building and leadership skills while learning and educating about power & privilege, oppression and human rights violations.

 

If you or someone you know is interested in the program, please find the attached flyer and application form. Applications are due on Thursday, February 3. Sessions are on Tuesdays from 5:30-7:30pm, from February 15 to May 24. Interested applicants can email their application forms to portlandchrp@gmail.com on or before February 3.
